I'm sure all of you have been dying to know what's been going on. :)
We had our first appointment with a fertility specialist on the 7th of December and we really like our doctor. Her name is Shawn Gurtcheff at the Fertility Clinic in Pleasant Grove. She went over all of my issues with Trevor and I, and said that before jumping to IVF she wanted to do a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) on me, which is a test where they inject a dye into the uterus to see if the fallopian tubes are blocked. She also said that she wanted to try doing 2-3 more cycles of clomid, aka crazy pills, at a higher dose accompanied by more IUI's.
I had the HSG done this week and it went well! My one tube is clear and shouldn't cause us any problems. Dr. Gurtcheff did say that my left ovary, even though it is healthy, will not be able to get me pregnant since it is so out of place from the scar tissue. The difficult thing about that, is that it is my dominant ovary, so our focus is trying to get my right ovary to ovulate.
Trevor and I are both going to be out of town this month so we won't be able to do the IUI until next month. He's going to Vietnam again for work from the 5-17, so I decided I would take advantage of that time and go see my mom and dad in IllInois! We leave tomorrow and will not be back until the 19th. I am so excited to get to spend that time with them, and Lincoln is going to love seeing his Grandma and Grandpa, who he doesn't get to visit very often.
Although it's been difficult, I know that everything will happen the way that it is supposed to. I have faith that it will all work out, one way or another. It's easy to forget that sometimes, but I haven't lost sight of that just yet. Thank you to all of you who have prayed for us and sent us good thoughts and encouragement. It helps so much!
Oh, and by the way, all you people who told me that I wouldn't scar from the surgery are liars! ;)
Just remember the Lord has a plan for each of us, and sometimes we have to wait patiently on the Lord.
