Life

It's been almost a year since I had my surgery. If you can't recall, I had a hydrosalpinx, which means that my fallopian tube was blocked with fluid caused from some type of infection. Due to the infection, I had my left fallopian tube taken out.
It's now over a year and a half of trying to get pregnant with baby #2 and we have ran into several problems along the way. First was the hydrosalpinx. After trying for 11 months since the surgery and 4 rounds of clomid, we went in see my OB GYN on November 10th and decided that we would do an IUI (Intrauterine Insemination). Dr. Young told me that he didn't expect it to work because my left ovary was way up outside of my pelvis most likely due to scar tissue from the surgery. He gave me an HCG shot that day, then we went back the following day and did the insemination. He put me on progesterone and another medication for the next two weeks. Unfortunately, the IUI did not work. Even though I half expected it not to work, I was still devastated when I found out it didn't. It's just so hard not to get your hopes up. My doctor told me that after this, there was nothing more he could do for me and that he suggested IVF. We have an appointment on December 7th and will know more at that point. He did say that they may consider doing another surgery on me to either fix my ovary, or take out my other tube. I'm really anxious to find out what our next step is but until then, I'll just have to try to keep myself busy. I'll give another update after our appointment.

  1. I can't relate, but I have a good friend that went through this very thing and it eventually worked wonderfully. I know miracles happen & I hope you get yours. :)

    1. Having said that, I know that commenting by saying "I know someone it worked for so don't give up hope!" can be painful in and of itself. But either way, I'll be praying for you guys.

  2. I'm sorry to hear that life is throwing you these curveballs. While we haven't personally dealt with these issues, I can imagine that it does take an emotional and physical toll. I wish you guys the best and hope things work out sooner rather than later.

  3. Thanks Kevin. I have faith it will work, I just wish it didn't have to come to this! Haha. And if it doesn't then maybe it's just not meant to be.

    1. There's that thing about blessings coming after trials of our faith. When they actually arrive after said trial is pretty vague. Too bad there's no 'Blessing Tracker' website... But it's a promise, if we stay faithful. And God cannot break a promise. ;)

    2. Haha, that would be pretty cool if there was such a website! Thanks for the reminder. ☺️

  4. I'm sorry you guys are still struggling. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

It might do nothing for you, but I thought I'd mention the supplement myo-inositol. Some women have had success getting pregnant after years of trying and I figure it can't hurt to try! I ordered some on Amazon and it's made quite a difference for me (not for pregnancy, but for regulating my cycle and symptoms of hormone imbalance.) Anyway, just thought I'd mention it. Good luck with everything!
