I called Trevor and let him know that I was going in to get checked out and he decided to meet me at the clinic. I packed a few things just in case, since they told me I may have to be admitted to the hospital, and left. I was so nervous on the way there, and even though I knew what was happening, I tried to convince myself that I wasn't really in labor. I got to the doctor's office and he checked me out, and said "You're having a baby today." The feeling I got was overwhelming. All of my fears about labor were suddenly gone. I felt so lucky and it was all so real, now that it was actually happening. He then said that I needed to go over to the hospital to get admitted. As soon as he left the room, Trevor looked over at me with the biggest smile on his face, walks right over and gave me a kiss and a big hug. He was so happy that we were finally going to meet our son. I loved seeing his reaction.
I got to the hospital and got all checked in and got set up in my room (#112). They put in the IV, which seriously sucked the whole time! They started me on Pitocin, which was to help me dilate more since I was only a one. We hung out for a few hours and I finally started having contractions and they were pretty painful!
When they checked me again, I had not progressed. They noticed that the Lincoln's heart rate would drop each time I had a contraction, so they decided to stop the medicine to see if that would help. While Trevor and I are hanging out, we hear a lady full on screaming in the next room. Pretty sure she thought she was going to die. She apparently opted for a natural birth and at the last minute wanted the epidural, and it was too late. It was a little scary hearing her screaming like that. My nurse came in shortly after to make sure I was ok! :)
After another few hours I was dilated to a 3. I then asked for an epidural ( cause I was not about to experience the pain that lady went through) and I was so nervous to get it. The guy that did it was the nicest man and his voice was so soothing. He talked me through everything and it really didn't hurt that bad. I started feeling really good after that :) Drugs are my friends.
I finally got to hold him for a minute but then they took him from me and put him in the NICU. It's such an amazing feeling knowing that we created this life. This perfect, handsome, sweet boy.
It's amazing how all of your body swells! Also, very uncomfortable. My feet are still like 3 times their usual size. Super attractive. It is all so worth it though!
They put him on a CPAP for about an hour just to make sure his lungs were ok since he was over 4 weeks early.
This is me, finally able to eat. I was happy for a while, then I was throwing it all up.
After I got the feeling back in my legs, I went to the NICU to see my baby.
I can't even describe the love I have for this boy, and even more so for my husband. I am forever indebted to him for giving me such an amazing gift. I love these boys with all my heart.
Overall, my experience was amazing. The nurses, anesthesiologist, and the doctor were all awesome. After the epidural, it was pretty much pain free! I could still move my legs and feel everything, but I couldn't feel any pain. I didn't tear or anything so no stitches for me! We're still not quite sure why my water broke so early, but I am sure glad it did. I can't imagine waiting another month for my baby! Welcome to the world baby boy.

I love you 3 so much!
